Nike reveals the newest rendition of Ja Morant’s signature footwear, the Ja 3. The third iteration of his silhouette lineage follows the footsteps of his first two shoe releases.
More concretely, the NBA star’s new sneaker offers a third-generation style design that leverages comfort and support. Accordingly, this helps Ja and players who play the same style overcome the challenges of a full season. At the same time, it assists in performing better when doing takeoffs, landings, and lateral movements.
In connection with this, Nike says the Ja 3 mirrors the character of the Grizzlies’ ace player — bold and fearless. Embracing his passion for taking flight, the footwear takes his game to greater heights. At the same time, it generates contributions to the next generation of playmakers and the entire sneaker culture.
A Signature Silhouette that Meets Morant’s Standards
Created to demonstrate Ja Morant’s standard of bold, energetic design, the latest sneaker translates his hands-on creative process. Consequently, the silhouette highlights his continued impact at the forefront of sneaker culture.
In addition, he mentioned that he told the Nike design team he wants shoes that speak even before wearing them.
“I wanted my third signature shoe to feel like my game and my personality. I told them, ‘Don’t be scared. Push it. Make it rugged, make it different.’ And they ran with it,” Morant expressed via Nike.
Based on a Nike press release, the footwear expands on the “scratch” design from Ja’s earlier versions. It features strategically placed perforations in the lightweight mesh upper for improved breathability.
Moreover, the upper turns smoothly into a translucent rubber cup sole, revealing the cutting-edge midsole. This innovative part blends ZoomX foam and ZoomX scrap materials. As a result, the shoes deliver the necessary comfort and responsiveness to cater to Ja’s explosiveness when playing.
Additionally, it includes a new micro-traction outsole pattern. The left and right outsole also present two quotes.
Furthermore, the shoe features a monogram pattern of his logo that pairs with a vertical Swoosh to form “JA” on the lateral side.
The Nike Ja 3 will be available this fall.
