Adidas Takes Over as Club America’s Official Partner

Adidas and Club América announced a long-term partnership on February 21, marking a new feat in the history of sports starting from the 2025-2026 season. At the same time, this honors an iconic reunion between the brand and the club since their early collaborations in the 1980s and 1990s.

Prior to this, the Mexico-based football team was in partnership with Nike since 2000. The team-up had a successful run for 25 years, bagging seven Liga MX titles among other achievements.

However, a SportJudge article by Michell Mendoza indicated that due to concerns piling up, a sentiment for change emerged, which led to the groundbreaking move. Subsequently, the final campaign of the Nike partnership will be the Clausura of this year, which commenced last month.

As reported by Adidas news, the sports brand will begin becoming the kit supplier of Club America starting this July 2025. In line with this, it will supply the Mexican team with match and training gear.

The collaboration between the institutions strives to establish a bright future and cement the club’s status as a powerhouse in the game. Similarly, it underscores the commitment of the German sportswear giant to the North American country.

“The incomparable history of Club América in Mexican football is something we deeply admire and respect,” Adidas Football General Manager Sam Handy said.

Moreover, he added that they are excited and filled with ambition now that the alliance will return at a time when the world’s focus will be on the continent’s sport.

Meanwhile, the SportJudge article suggested that financial and commercial benefits, Latin America expansion, and Nike competition sparked the deal between Adidas and Las Águilas.

Consequently, the football organization’s official expressed his take on the latest agreement.

“We are very happy with this new agreement with Adidas. It is a financially positive deal for Club América. Additionally, we are confident it ensures fans greater access to all Club América products,” Club América President Emilio Azcárraga stated.
