Disney Sets Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith for Theater Comeback

Disney is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith with an anticipated re-release on the big screen. Specifically, the theatrical return will feature the last installment of the prequel trilogy, Episode III.

According to an article on the official Star Wars website, the film will be released in select cinemas in the United States. At the same time, it is going to run in some international territories theaters. In line with this, the entertainment conglomerate affirmed that the re-release will reach a few British cinemas, Disney confirmed via NME.

For the first time, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith will premiere in a 4DX, which heightens the viewing experience. Based on reports, this feature involves the use of high-tech motion chairs synchronized with over 21 effects. It is carefully designed to add an immersive feeling. Simultaneously, the film will come in different other formats.

A Look Back at the Groundbreaking Story

Episode III takes place after the Clone Wars started, and it marks the end of the prequel trilogy. The film focuses on the fall of the once-noble Jedi Order. This happening forces Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master Yoda, and other survivors into hiding. Consequently, the dark Sith reveals a centuries-old scheme to take over the galaxy. It occurs during an era where Jedi Knights serve as generals commanding a clone army in a war versus the Separatists. Anakin Skywalker then succumbs to the dark side of the force as the new apprentice of Emperor Palpatine.

The movie cast includes Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson, Natalie Portman, Christopher Lee, Jimmy Smits, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Frank Oz, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Anthony Daniels, Silas Carson, Kenny Baker, Temuera Morrison, and Oliver Ford Davies.

Featuring fresh poster art by the prominent graphic artist Matt Ferguson, Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith will premiere on April 25, 2025.
