Sony Leak Shows AI PlayStation Characters in Testing

Sony is said to be in the process of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its PlayStation game characters. If confirmed, the multinational conglomerate will join other big names in the industry, including Nvidia and Microsoft, in this innovation.

According to a report from The Verge, an anonymous tipster leaked an internal video from Sony’s PlayStation group. The said video shows Horizon Forbidden West’s Aloy seemingly functioning through AI.

Based on the same report, Sony Interactive Entertainment Software Engineering Director Sharwin Raghoebardajal is seen narrating in the video. Raghoebardajal was said to be demonstrating how the development works by holding a conversation with the character through voice prompts.

In addition, AI-powered Aloy can be seen answering questions using a synthesized voice and facial movements. Raghoebardajal speaks with Aloy in the video, asking her how she is doing and something about her journey. Consequently, the character responds based on the Horizon game moments, Brett Byll of GameRant reports. The character was shown in a demo setting and the Horizon Forbidden West game.

A Synthesis of AI Innovations

Engineering Director Raghoebardajal stresses that the prototype was a collaboration with Guerrilla Games. Moreover, the developers of the technology integrated OpenAI’s whisper for speech-to-text. GPT-4 and Llama 3 enable its ability to make decisions and hold conversations. On the other hand, Sony uses its native Mockingbird technology and Emotional Voice Synthesis system for audio-to-face animation and speech generation, respectively.

The leak reveals that the demo runs on PC, but the tech company is also experimenting with running parts directly on PS5 consoles, says Raghoebardajal. While Sony shows hints of continued AI development in games, it seems the company is not ready for an official rollout.

Meanwhile, prior to this report, the leaked video was uploaded on YouTube, but a copyright claim from Muso caused the content to be removed.

Lacoste graced the final Sunday opening of Paris Fashion Week 2025, presenting a combination of sports and style. The blending of the two elements was on full display as part of the official autumn-winter 2025/26 season’s ready-to-wear schedule.

Greek-American designer Pelagia Kolotouros headed the exquisite collection. At the same time, the runway was held at the courts of the renowned Roland Garros Stadium.

Kolotouros opened the show with an ultra-modern take while reflecting a natural harmony. She proved that her fashion attitude changes the game on and off the court.

According to Andrea Sacal of Hypebeast, the creative director’s vision included puffed athletic uniforms, knitted polo shirts, and oversized tailoring. At the same time, the outfit lineup featured jumpsuits, coats, loose-fitting trousers, wide-collared blazers, skirts, waterproof jackets, double-layered gloves, and khaki tracksuits, reads a Footboom article.

Lacoste’s collection emanates a positive atmosphere by using brown, black, white, fuchsia, and green in various shades. Consequently, the sparkling cardigan came with a myriad of dark green looks.

Based on reports, the collection was inspired by the founder of the sports luxury brand — René Lacoste. Also, Kolotouros paid tribute to the nickname ‘The Crocodile’ that René earned on the courts. The designer incorporated his name in uppercase (RENÉ) on several pieces, together with the founding year of the brand (1927).

Celebrating the Timeless Legacy of Lacoste

The company’s runway in the Paris Fashion Week honors the long-standing on-court legacy of Lacoste. A-listers like Adrien Brody, Sampha, and Venus Williams attended the event at the Philippe Chatrier court. Marking a unique experience, attendees were able to witness the show right from the court, instead of the stands.

Meanwhile, an embroidered napkin inside a green-trimmed leather box was given to guests as part of the welcoming gimmick. Further, soft blankets covered the seats, adding a new layer to the mood of the event.

The fall-winter collection takes luxury sportswear to greater heights, cementing the name of Lacoste in fashion history.

Lady Gaga Drops Seventh Album ‘Mayhem’

Lady Gaga releases her latest music album, Mayhem, today. The project is the artist’s grandiose comeback to her dark dance-pop era.

It features fourteen songs, including Disease, Abracadabra, Garden of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, Vanish Into You, Killah (feat. Gesaffelstein), Zombieboy, LoveDrug, How Bad Do U Want Me, Don’t Call Tonight, Shadow of a Man, The Beast, Blade of Grass, and Die with a Smile (with Bruno Mars).

Lady Gaga collaborated with big producers Cirkut and Andrew Watt. However, the greatest twist is that she co-wrote Blade of Grass with her fiancé, Michael Polansky.

“It’s a love song between the two of us, but sometimes when we find love in our lives, it can also help us reflect on what it took to get there,” Gaga says via USA Today.

Fans eagerly awaited Lady Gaga’s seventh album as the singer described it as utter chaos that breaks rules but has so much fun in a cover story with Elle.

Mayhem is now available for streaming on Spotify.

MagicX Zero 40 Redefines Nintendo DS Consoles

MagicX officially reveals its most recent gaming device, the MagicX Zero 40. The newest gadget is another handheld emulator perfectly built for playing Nintendo games.

The company initially teased the handheld console during the holiday period. Despite not being as popular as other handheld manufacturers in the industry, MagicX debuted with positive reviews. Earlier this year, it released its first Android-powered gaming device, the Mini Zero 28.

Now, MagicX is disclosing entirely the specifications of its latest offering to the gaming community. Designed to be suitable for showing the two displays of a Nintendo DS simultaneously, the Zero 40 features a tall, vertical display.

Based on the spec sheet from the official website, the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of the product will run on the A133P chipset. Its Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) utilizes an IMG PowerVR GE8300. The Random Access Memory (RAM) is a DDR4 2GB with 1866MHz. It runs on a 64-bit Android system and supports Bluetooth 4.2. Battery life lasts up to 7 hours, thanks to the Polymer lithium-ion battery of 4300 mAh. Moreover, it supports TF card expansion up to 512GB.

MagicX also confirmed that the 4-inch and 800 x 480-pixel IPS display is capable of 1.8x image scaling. This is in addition to the initial statement of the company that the Zero 40 only emulates dual-screen gaming handhelds, including the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 2DS, Alex Alderson of NotebookCheck reports.

Zero 40 Fills the Gap in Gaming

According to Bill Smith of TecheBlog, most displays of handheld consoles today do not match with Nintendo DS games. Consequently, Andrew Liszewski of TheVerge highlighted that the MagicX Zero 40 becomes a great alternative, as Nintendo is “exhausting its supply of DS repair parts.”

Pricing is also relevantly more affordable, for the company is going with the single panel approach, similar to the 2DS. At a cheap price, MagicX claims that the gadget should be able to emulate other titles, namely PSP, Dreamcast, and N64.

The MagicX Zero 40 would be available at around $75 sometime in April.

Chappell Roan Sets Release Date for Country Single ‘The Giver’

Chappell Roan announces on Instagram the release date for her latest single, The Giver. Specifically, her social media post confirmed that the song will officially launch on March 13.

The artist also shared with her fans some bits about the inspiration for the new single.

“…I have such a special place in my heart for country music. I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at bon fires, grocery stores and karaoke bars,” Chappell wrote on Instagram.

Roan’s debut in the genre is another collaboration with producer Dan Nigro. She stated that they had fun doing something fresh.

In the same online announcement, the singer addresses rumors about her releasing a full country album. According to her, right now she is just making songs that make her happy and she simply wants to “twirl and do a little gay yodel” for her fans.

YouTube Introduces Premium Lite Plan

YouTube is rolling out the pilot of its latest offering, the Premium Lite. The launch of the extension in its ad-free plan subscriptions happened on March 05, 2025.

It is a cheaper alternative at $7.99 per month. The plan is more affordable compared to the more expensive Premium Plan that comes at $13.99 a month. The video-sharing company’s new package caters to people who prefer watching videos more often than listening to music. More concretely, Premium Pan is ad-free for most videos only, excluding content in the music category. It reverses the $10.99 monthly deal in Premium Music.

“We’ve been testing Premium Lite to make sure we have the right balance of features and benefits for those viewers who want to watch most videos ad-free – whether it’s gaming, comedy, cooking, or learning,” reads a YouTube official article.

The company also added that the existing Premium Plan is recommended for users who seek ad-free music with offline and background play.

Serving the Demand of Consumers

YouTube fills the demand of many users who are already subscribed to other music streaming platforms. Alphabet’s media content hub also focuses on providing multiple options for subscribers to enjoy their favorite content. Simultaneously, the company highlights that the expansion of the ad-free plans enables their partners and creators to earn more.

“We didn’t feel that we really got it matching the tier for users that don’t need the music content, and so that’s where this revision comes in,” says YouTube Premium Product Director Jack Greenberg, Kenrick Cai of Reuters reports.

The expansion of the pilot began on Wednesday to US users. YouTube plans to make Premium Lite available to other pilot countries, namely Australia, Germany, and Thailand in the next few weeks.

Meanwhile, YouTube Music and Premium garnered more than 125 million subscribers. However, this figure counts trial subscriptions, hence the cheaper tier.

Adidas Signs Camila Mendes to Its Running Team

Adidas is introducing the latest addition to its running family, Camila Mendes. The Three Stripes welcomed the Brazilian-American actress, producer, and entrepreneur on March 4, 2025.

The German athletic corporation is blazing a fresh trail by signing Mendes to their running category. Simultaneously, it breaks the stereotype that celebrity footwear is limited to lifestyle sneakers.

Mendes is currently filming a superhero film “Masters of the Universe” and she emphasized the connection of the partnership in her new role.

“Although I’ve always been physically active, running became a key part of my workout routine while training for my latest role,” Camila says via Adidas.

The brand also aims to obliterate the preconceived notion that running is entirely about competition. It continues to advocate that the sport is more about building a community, pleasure, and self-care.

“At Adidas, we understand that every runner has a unique and personal relationship with the sport, and that’s what makes running so special,”  VP Product Patrick Nava states via Adidas.

Nava also added that they hope the partnership sparks a new beginning that will inspire runners to grow their relationship with running and enjoy whatever it signifies.

Camila’s New Role Under the Brand

The Riverdale star will debut in the fresh colorways of the Supernova Rise 2. It is a footwear that was launched in the previous year and it is 4% lighter compared to its predecessor. The shoe features an upgraded outer mesh and a better heel pillow, making it comfort-tuned.

Mendes also shared that she has not always been a runner. Moving forward, she will be supporting many more Adidas campaigns throughout the year, embracing both challenges and progress.

“… together we’ve created a campaign that’s filled with humor, honesty, and authenticity. I can’t wait to see it come to life,” Mendes says addressing her Adidas collaboration.

The Supernova Rise 2 new colorways will be on sale starting March 7.

Google Enhances User Security with AI Scam Detection

Google is expanding its security by introducing two cutting-edge scam detection features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). The latest innovation protects users from rampant scams that transpire through calls and text messages.

Prior to this, the Global Anti-Scam Alliance reported that scamming activities have grown to use smart technology to rob mobile users of more than $1 trillion in 2024. Similarly, a huge American population said they encountered at least one scam call each day in the same year.

Google says that they have been concentrating on keeping users’ financial information and data protected. As part of its mission to safeguard consumers, the tech company continues to optimize Android security with better AI features.

AI Scam Detection for Messages

According to the multinational corporation, it is extending the existing Spam Protection in Google Messages.

“We’re now introducing Scam Detection to detect a wider range of fraudulent activities,” Google says.

Scam detection in messages is on by default and utilizes AI to deliver real-time detection. The feature identifies dubious SMS, RCS, and MMS patterns, and then sends a warning — allowing users to report or block the sender.

Google emphasized that users have the freedom to turn on and off the feature, and once on, it exclusively applies to messages with non-contacts. The company added that the privacy of users is its top priority.

AI Scam Detection for Calls

The tech giant says it leverages AI models processed on-device to provide haptic and audio notifications whenever scam calls are detected. It also stated that users do not have to worry about data privacy breaches.

“Call audio is processed ephemerally and no conversation audio or transcription is recorded, stored on the device, or sent to Google or third parties,” reads a Google article.

Google has also teamed up with global financial institutions to improve efficiency.
