Tesla launched its newest over-the-air (OTA) software update for 2025, the Spring Update. This change brings exciting and useful new features to Tesla’s electric vehicles (EVs).
In connection with this, the automotive and clean energy company bundles several features into one software update from time to time. However, this time, the offering is specific to particular vehicles and regions. In short, not all Tesla owners will get an upgrade.
As reported by Leon Poultney of TechRadar, the Spring Update delivers five new features to its EV lineup.
Adaptive Headlights
With the new changes in the laws of North America and Canada, Tesla owners who live in the areas will enjoy the adaptive headlights. Additionally, it will be available on models that have matrix headlights. Specifically, the feature delivers high beams that automatically adjust to situations. This helps prevent blinding oncoming road users, which could cause collisions and other accidents.
Smarter Road Trip Planning
The automaker’s enhanced route planning is another plus to its tech arsenal. It now offers several options to perfectly match the owner’s trip preferences. One of which is Fastest, which prioritizes the most efficient routes. On the other hand, Best Amenities shows you routes that have all your necessities, including Superchargers, restrooms, and the like. The trip planner also includes Fewer Stops, which specifically aims to provide a route that lessens charging stops.
Improved Sentry Mode and Dashcam
Additional camera angles help owners of models S, 3, X, and Y when driving and parking in both Dashcam and Sentry Mode recordings. Also, the Dashcam Viewer app now has a grid layout, which displays several camera angle options.
Extended Charging Time for Accessories
While it is a subtle feature, it makes all the difference. Owners can now continue using USB ports and phone chargers after leaving the vehicle. However, the car’s battery requires more than 20% for this to be possible, as it needs to ensure enough power for the next charging station.
Blind Spot Camera
The driver’s display screen now shows the blind spot cameras. However, it is only accessible to the refreshed Models S and X.
Tesla’s 2025 Spring Update has limited accessibility as it only caters to a few countries and select models. According to Tesla Oracle, the EV maker may take longer to roll out the features globally.
