Instagram officially launched its newest editing app called Edits on Tuesday. Prior to the rollout, the app was initially announced last January and seems to be the answer to rivals like Capcut and Tiktok.
According to an official article, Instagram designed edits specifically for creators. In line with this, Instagram head Adam Mosseri emphasized on Threads that the app is not necessarily for casual video creators.
In addition, the developers of the app say that Instagram focuses on helping creators bring their creativity to life by providing the best tools.

Instagram acknowledges the reality of video creation, which becomes the inspiration for developing an app with powerful capabilities. Edits is a tool that supports the creation process in one dedicated space.
