Code Vein II has officially shown its gameplay trailer. The reveal took place at the PlayStation State of Play broadcast held yesterday. This upcoming title is also a direct sequel to the 2019 hit, Code Vein. It is developed by Bandai Namco Studios. And players have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up since the launch of the original game. Now, the studio is finally making the long-standing wish of fans come true.
Time Travel with a Dark Story
According to Bandai Namco Entertainment, the sequel comes back to the dark fantasy world. In this setting, humans live together with vampiric beings called Revenants. However, there is a new evil force emerging — the Luna Rapacis. It changes Revenants into dangerous monsters.
In particular, players take on the role of a Revenant Hunter. This protagonist will go on a quest with Lou. She is a young woman with the special ability to travel through time. Together, they will go across past and present versions of an explorable environment. In the same way, the time travel is an important part of the story. It is the key to changing history and stopping the end of the world.

Powerful Weapons and Bloody Combat
Based on the gameplay trailer, Code Vein II adds new weapons and fighting mechanics. Players can use unique items, including the colossal greatsword known as the “Absolute Executioner.” Likewise, this weapon is capable of delivering a strong finishing move. The trailer shows that it can lead to epic moments in battles.
Bandai Namco says that this upcoming title continues the blood action fighting style. In the same way, draining blood from enemies still unlocks special skills and abilities.
At the same time, the sequel will add a Partner System. It lets players change between two kinds of combat. Players can fight alone (Summoning mode) or merge (Assimilation) to improve strength and attacks.

The developers also kept a customization system for the protagonist. Players can change the looks, skills, and weapons.
Part of the upcoming title is the Motorcycle Forma. It is a vehicle that players can use to travel quickly through environments. But travelling on foot is also an option.
