Adidas Originals, the sub-brand of Adidas, that focuses on lifestyle and heritage products, is kicking off the year with a Bad Bunny collaboration.
The exciting partnership between the sports brand and the rapper introduces a brand new silhouette — the Bad Bunny Ballerina. According to the German corporation, the footwear is “a vibrant fusion of dance, rhythm, and cultural evolution.” Specifically, it pays tribute to the roots and home island of the artist.
Based on an article, the Ballerina represents the dance culture and music of Puerto Rico, which are the core elements of Bunny’s artistry. Similarly, the footwear signifies the rapper’s evolution in music and celebrates rhythm and movement as a universal language.
“…these sneakers don’t just honor his roots—they flip the past into something new, a vision only he could bring to life,” Adidas said in an article.
The collaboration mirrors the distinct objective of Adidas Originals. It aims to create classic and streetwear-inspired products, rather than merely for athletic performance.
Also, the project comes as Bad Bunny continues to make an impact on the music scene. He is a multi-platinum and GRAMMY winner artist, cementing his name as a culture and entertainment icon.
A Blend of Classic and Modern Design
Launching in a gold colorway, the sneakers combine ballet with Adidas’ iconic Taekwondo model. They draw inspiration from the classic elements and give out a fresh twist. Further, the Ballerina is a fusion of sleek and modern aesthetics with a touch of performance heritage.
To enhance the texture, the Ballerina includes high-end suede overlays on the toe and heel. Likewise, it incorporates an optimized shape and bungee-cord laces to deliver a protected and stylish fit.
As a tribute to the rapper’s previous collaborations with the brand, Adidas included a “Benito” branding close to the iconic Three Stripes and a unique sizing tag.
The Bad Bunny Ballerina will be on sale on March 29 at $120 in select global retail partners.
