Nike and Bode Rec. Unveils New Astrograbber Colorways

Nike and Bode Rec. are releasing two new colorways of the classic Astrograbber silhouette in a few days. The new expressions of the iconic footwear are part of the latest campaign. They aim to foster their timeless appreciation of sports heritage and shared mission to serve athletes around the globe.

Joining the campaign is Nike athlete Ja’Marr Chase. Together the mission revives the turf shoe in a homage to the silhouette’s football origins and introduces its modern appeal. It represents the shoe’s historic sport-style influence and aims to establish contemporary resonance. More specifically, the campaign solidifies the iconic gridiron look as a current staple in sportswear.

“The new Astrograbber colorways are timeless and easy to wear, giving the next generation new ways to add a throwback, vintage style to their look,” says Chase via Nike.

He added that the two companies’ partnership is entering another level with fresh colorways after their successful first collection.

Moreover, Bode Founder and Designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla shares where she gained inspiration for reimagining the shoe that originally debuted in 1974.

“A lot of my inspiration…is drawn from the anecdotal stories I learned when I visited Nike World Headquarters of Nike employee No. 1 Jeff Johnson and of Bill Bowerman,” states Emily via Nike.

A Fresh Take on the Classic Footwear

The reinvented Astrograbber elevates the turf shoe while retaining its lasting appeal in a timeless design.

The silhouettes sport a black, woven textile look. Furthermore, Bowerman’s handmade waffle joggers inspired the green leather style. Both colorways include metallic gold shoelace charms and come in customized packaging that accentuates the partnership of the apparel brands.

“I believe sport and recreation are vital to our growth as individuals, and that shines through in our new colorways and campaign,” Emily says, emphasizing the significance of the new project.

The new colorways of the Astrograbber silhouette will be on sale on March 14 at Bode, while March 21 for the black colorway on SNKRS and select Nike and Bode Rec. retailers.
